A. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the development community and the citizens of Maricopa with a minimum set of standards to guide the physical development and the visual quality of the subdivisions being developed throughout the community. The design standards in this article apply to all developments in the city. The intent is to create functional, attractive developments, to help preserve the natural beauty of the city by preserving open space, minimize adverse impacts on the community, and to ensure that future subdivisions will conform to the community’s expectations while at the same time encouraging new development that is dynamic, creative and imaginative.
